'Child car seat regulations will take effect in November 2025'
Starting from November 1, 2025, children under 8 years old and shorter than 135 cm must be secured in a safety seat or restrained with another child restraining device (CRD).
Children taller than 135 cm are exempt from this rule.
Drivers who violate the regulation may face a fine of HK$230, with the maximum penalty reaching HK$2,000 for serious cases.
This new regulation applies to all private cars, including Uber rides. Please stay informed about this upcoming driving regulation in 2025. The relevant equipment must comply with the safety standards of China, the United States, the European Union, Australia, and other applicable regions.
